The All City Nature Boy 853 ticks all the boxes for a simple yet fun winter bike. The frame itself is constructed from Reynolds 853 tubing and is paired up with a Whisky No. 9 Thru-Axle cross fork. It has clearance for around a 38mm tyre, fender mounts and All City’s excellent singlespeed disc dropout.

This one is setup fixed wheel, for which we used Surly’s Ultra New fixed/disc 135mm hub as the base and added a set of Paul Klampers for excellent modulation and stopping power in the wet! Talking of rain the bike has fender mounts to help keep you dry and the paint job glistening throughout the winter. Fixed gear winter bikes go back a long way and many talk of the benefits they can bring to your fitness, pedaling efficiency and ease of maintaining throughout the long winter months.

However, the one thing that is often overlooked is that they are just straight up fun to ride!  The Nature Boy 853 is also a super versatile frameset and with a change of rear wheel and tyres it can be setup single speed for gravel rides in the New Forest or a day out on the South Downs Way.
