This build was all about aesthetics and simplicity. A single speed delivers a clean and efficient ride without any of the maintenance or complexity of gears. It’s a pure form of cycling reaching back to a golden age. However, fitted with the right gear ratio for you it still makes for a super fun and enjoyable modern ride.   

The classic retro touches continue in the form of the chrome lugged 1” threaded flat crown fork with matching chrome dropouts, paired up with a timeless Brooks saddle and bar tape. By going for a custom build over an off the shelf complete the client was able to pick out specific components like the Brooks saddle and bar tape from the start, rather then having to pay more to upgrade it later. 

We could even ensured touches like the colour of the brake cable outer and tyres matched the colour scheme. The frame itself is built from tried and tested double butted 4130 tubing giving a comfortable and forgiving ride. The geometry is classic track and can be run fixed for an even cleaner look by removing the rear brake. All in this build makes for an ideal city bike.
